I recently finished “The Girl with Seven Names” about a woman who defected from North Korea. It was a great autobiography! I also revelry finished “Saving My Assassin” about a lawyer in communist Romania and how she shared Jesus with the man who was hired to kill her.

I’m looking forward to reading your suggestion about IF! Thanks. I started diligently last year on June 1, after watching the docu series “Proven,” to lose weight. I love IF, and have lost 40 pounds so far. But one can never be too informed. I’m into a historical fiction series about 8th century Viking doings. The Circle of Ceridwen is the first, but the 8 th book is out on June 30, and fans are on pins and needles trying to wait.

Right now I am starting the latest one by my all-time favorite author, Elizabeth Berg. She writes easy reading, feel-good fiction stories, many that focus on hilarious relationships between the women in the main character's life. Talk Before Sleep was the first one I read. After that one, I was hooked on her.

Thank you so much for that recommendation. On my second book of hers. You are right; easy-read, funny, but interesting. Read “Last Time I Saw You.” Now, almost done with Mr. Truluv,” and can’t wait for the next one.

I haven't finished Mr Truluv yet. I bought it right before we moved, started it, then packed it and never finished. I have to finish that one and Night of Miracles that is sitting on my lap. I have all of hers except the period piece she wrote. That's not my style. Talk Before Sleep was the first one I read that got me hooked on her. It's touching, funny, and sad.

Anything by Elin Hilderbrand makes for a great summer read! All of her novels are set in Nantucket. I also love Sophie Kinsella in the summer. Her books are typically light and easy to breeze through. 😊

To whoever recommended Elizabeth Berg, thank you very much! You were right about her style, and the fact that her writing is interesting, some thought-provoking questions come up, but at the same time, it is not heavy, depressing, or a thesaurus junky’s nightmare. Not that I don’t love books like those, but for this particular time in my life, I am grateful for the recommendation. 👌🏼💜

This Tender Land was my last book club read. I would not have selected it for myself, but it has been the best book I’ve read all year.
