Last week, before my hemorrhoid surgery (and before I wanted to run myself over with a car from the pain) I made a video about Target.
Did you see it? No? Check it out here - Target Video.
It was me sitting in my car ranting and raving about THE LACK OF PLUS SIZE CLOTHES in the Lufkin Target store.
When I made the video I had no intention of calling out every single Target store in the the WORLD. But it looks like I did. As of today, over 4.7 million people have watched that video and I would guess about 99.678% of them agreed with me.
Seems the Targets in Lincoln, Nebraska, Dallas, Texas, Orlando, Florida, Tyler, Texas, Hamilton, North Dakota, Morgantown, West Virginia and many many more have the same issue.
And yet, here is what we heard from Target:
🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗
Crickets.
Nada.
Nothing.
Zip.
Zero.
Zilch.
Seems that Target doesn’t care.
They care about their home goods.
They care about their accessories.
They care about their electronics.
But they do not care about us.
We. The consumer.
So as mad as I was when I made the video - I’m even madder now. You should be, too. We all should be.
Our dollars matter!! Don’t believe me? Stop spending them there and let’s see how long they keep quiet.
David says the last thing I need is to have another “project.” I do Rise and Radke ever morning. We have the Radke Family Membership which is one of my all-time favorite things. I write this Stretch Marks article. And I’m about to kick my Burn Your Boats journey up a whole ‘nother notch. But I’m sorry....I cannot let this go!
Plus size women were not made to shrink back and play small. We were not created to disappear into the wallpaper or the floral print on a couch. We matter, dang it! And we want to look as beautiful as we believe that we are!
This does not feel like too much to ask!
So let me ask you...where have you shopped recently that made you feel “less than?” Where do you go to spend money only to walk out with your tail between your legs and your head hanging low? I wanna know! Maybe it’s time we speakup. And I’ve got a phone, a camera and a mouth that is more than willing to do it.
Then, on a positive note, where do you shop that makes you feel as valuable as you know you are? I’d love to hear about those places as well.
Maybe you’re new to Stretch Marks...if so, welcome. We are women of all different sizes, shapes, colors and backgrounds. But we have one thing in common: WE’VE GOT EACH OTHER.
Welcome to the family.
Love,
Melissa
P.S. Who do you know that needs to be in this family with us?
Kohl's I absolutely hate it. There plus size is grandma clothing only it seems ugh I'm 34 I want the cute in style stuff not the high water slacks and grandma blouses. I absolutely love shopping boutiques anymore bc they have cute in style clothing for all sizes for the most part
Torrid, hands down!!!!!
