“The eyes are the nipples of the face.” – House Bunny
Hello, my lovelies!
It’s Stretch Marks day and you know what that means?!
That means we talk about allllllllll of the things that make-up being a woman.
Men, hormones, nail polish, bad attitudes, fiery tempers, intelligence, purple shampoos, kids, getting enough sleep and multivitamins.
Now, please don’t write me an email asserting that there is soooooo much more to a woman than the things I’ve just listed. I know that! But if I wrote down everything that makes us so awesome, I wouldn’t have time to go make dinner. (Or go pick up dinner, who am I kidding? Stop trying to fool people, Melissa.)
But that’s what I love about this community. We are all so different and from so many different places, raised in so many different ways and we think and care about so many different things. So, I have found that when I have a question and I want a varied opinion on it – I bring it to you all! First I did it with purple shampoo and y’all came out of the woodwork for that one! I will be trying purple shampoo until God comes back and tells me that it doesn’t matter anymore.
So, here is my new question for us all: MASCARA.
God be with us as we try to narrow down this field, for it is vast.
For the longest time I was a fan of Lancome’s Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara, and if I’m honest, I could go back to in a heartbeat. It really is that good. But recently I got on the TikTok train and decided to try what everyone and their dog was talking about, Maybelline’s Sensational Sky High. Honestly? I wasn’t that big of a fan. Have you tried it?
Now I have come across another brand that is giving all of them a run for their money. Too Faced Damn Girl! Mascara is really good. It doesn’t just help with length, the brush is also perfect for giving you some thickness and depth in your lashes (which is a huge help for some of us). I found it at Ulta and I am currently fighting over it with my daughter who also tried it and loved it.
So as it goes, my three favorites are:
#1. Too Faced Damn Girl! Mascara
#2. Lancome Monsiour Big Mascara
#3. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
Let’s hear from you all. I’m ready to try whatever you all tell me is the end-all. I’ll tally up which mascara gets the most votes and I’ll go try out the top two. And what I don’t like? I’ll give to Remi. So please share your favorites. Yes, I know a lot is going on in the world – but can we, for a moment, focus on something that makes us happy? Thank you and Amen.
P.S. And if you really want to send your mascara up a level, prime it with Lancome Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Primer. I didn’t want to spend the extra money, but I’m so glad I tried it. I won’t use it every day – but if I plan on going somewhere that I need to look my best, I’m putting this baby on every single time.
