Mine is almost 41, with twin girls almost 12. Bwahahaha! I’m loving every single, solitary minute of her mental anguish. See “mine” isn’t really mine, she’s my bonus daughter. I chose to love her, I didn’t have to. She put her father and I through living hell (did I mention I met her when she was 11? The same age her daughters are now) For 30 years I have chosen to love that girl and the majority of the time it was not easy. It wasn’t fun. It wasn’t pretty or anything close to it, but she’s 40 now and she’s a beautiful woman inside and out. She wouldn’t be that woman today if not for all the tears, threats, heartbreak and yes, lots of joy. And when one of her daughters gives her that “look” God help me, it warms my heart.

I can so relate. First off, our only child our daughter passed January 16th 2017 at 39 years old from fentanyl poisoning. Our lives are forever changed and I'm just holding on by a string. Thank you God for the strength you are giving me. ANYWAYS!!!! She was exactly like your Remi. I always prayed it would get better. Sorry to say Melissa Radke but it was a "joy" each and every day!! I miss those days. Poor thing fast wasn't fast enough. She was sooooo funny. I've peed my pants too many times to count laughing with and at her. Mommas please don't wish their lives away. Don't wish if only they were this old or that old things would get easier. Trust me when I tell you you'll cherish those days some time in the future. I'm not speaking of what we went thru. But please cherish those moments, even when you wanna give up or you wanna sit them in the corner til God comes back!! God blessed us for 39 years. Love on your kids. Melissa your love for your kids shines. Of course you are hilarious when talking about them and a lot of times not exaggerating. Lol...anyways. all you mommas out there please love on them babies!!

Live this life but with an 18 year old son. As I prepare to watch him graduate, I'm so proud that we all made it out and still love each other to pieces.

I don’t know what Jesus is trying to teach me...but I had a strong willed one, followed by another even stronger willed, than another, then the 4th - Lawd have Mercy! This kid is going to kill me...because I probably won’t actually kill him in real life. It’s always nice to know that I’m not alone...misery loves company, right?! Keep up the good work! And thanks for the...realness.

Ahh! You have one with gumption!! She’ll be great! I always told my daughter, who is a lot like Remi, that I hoped she had a child as bad as she was! She was always in to everything and doing everything she wasn’t supposed to do. Not long ago she wrote me a note saying she apologized for everything she had ever done cause she’s got a little one now that is giving her fits!! There is a God!!

Love it! So true! I have an independent whirlwind. I admire her, love her & want to wring her beautiful neck many days. But when you say it flies - mine is getting married next month. I’m excited, sad, relieved (we survived!) but I wouldn’t change Miss Stubbornness for the world. Loved your sign off too! Preach! Looking forward to moving into friend (I hope) now that she’s moving out!

I’m so glad to know there are other Moms out there that really contemplated eating their young too.

Melissa, those are beautiful words and Remi will cherish them one day. Probably not today but one day in the future.

Thank you for this! I have 3 strong willed kids, 2 are adopted and have rough pasts that just make them more...exciting. to parent! It's so incredibly hard but you are right, be present and it will pass! Also, listening or reading true crime stories is coping mechanism!

I'm laughing at so much of this! Every Mom is entitled to their feelings of frustration and guilt!

Also, MY middle name is HOPE! I don't hear of too many Hopes in the world, as well as my fittest name! Woohoo!
