What?!?! The claw clip went out of style and are now coming back??? I’ve continued to use them because…I could care less if it’s fashionable or not, they work in my hair. 😂
Hi Kiddo! I have “beautiful” naturally curly hair. I always hated it. I slept on large brush hair rollers every night of my 4 years in high school. Luckily by the time I reached college long frizzy hair was in style…. Yay me! However during my adult years I blew all the curls out. That was like for about 30 years …. Any way I’m letting it go natural now. A layered cut… it looks pretty good if I do day so. And it is easy!!!!!!! I tell you this because when I finally accepted my hair just the way it is, it was such a relief. Maybe your natural hair just needs to be cut just right or something. A perm is nice, too, of course, but I’ll bet your natural hair is very pretty, too. Everything is pretty about you. Has anyone mentioned your beautiful complexion? Good luck! Pictures?
It seems like in high school we always wanted the hair we didn't have. The curly hair girls wanted straight, and the straight hair girls wanted curly. At some point we embraced the hair God gave us, which is a relief. I think a perm would save me time long term and give me the same look I've been working on with hair tools. We'll see. Thank you for the sweet comments.
Curly girls unite! I’ve been there and done everything you’ve mentioned. I finally gave up, gave in and went au naturelle. No straightener, no color just silver curls!
Jane, I am so with you. I have always had natural curl. In high school I hated it; rolled my hair on huge brush rollers, soup cans, whatever was handy. I even have been known to iron my hair with a regular clothes iron-no flat iron or other contraption. Once I had children I realized the folly of trying to keep my hair styled and run after two little boys and I started cutting it. Today (at 72) my hair is short and natural, both color and style, and I don't ave to do a single thing to it. I shampoo, towel and run my fingers through it. I rarely ever use a comb or brush and it always looks good if I do say so myself. I have embraced my curls and am happier for it. Melissa, I cannot imagine and color or style, permed or un-permed that wouldn't look adorable on you. You do you. Go for it and yes, pictures!
Ooh, stirrup pants made my legs look like peg legs with shoes on; like totally straight. But the good side is...hm. I forgot. Remind me what the good side was. Thanks.
I feel like we are living our lives in parallel. I'm literally doing this next week. I chopped off my LONG hair to a medium bob and next week I'm going in for a body wave perm and I cannot wait!!
My hubby liked my permed hair back from the early 90’s when we met. My hairdresser told me I can have a perm but I would have to go grey. So it’s straight and brown or curly and gray. You choose …
I asked my stylist for one last month and she said she hadn’t done a perm since beauty school and she wasn’t about to start now. I have been thinking about finding a new stylist 🤪🤪
Gurrrl, I literally had the same conversation with my stylist yesterday. I wanted loose curls, but she confirmed what all my girlfriends said, too 80ish. So I settled for a shape up til I get enough length to go for the style I want. Sigh.... I love that curly look. I will send you monthly chocolate if you can bring thd perm back.
My hair is super thick and has a mind of it's own. No matter how much I tried to straighten it, it never would get smooth. It would just get frizzy and the static would drive me insane! So a few years ago I decided to get a perm. It's soooo much easier to manage my hair now. I just get out of the shower, scrunch in some curl cream and go! Saves me so much time and frustration!
In the 90s I kept a perm in my long straight hair and loved it. Bring it back. I say do it. I’m remembering those pink perm rods I slept on every Saturday night and Sunday morning my hair with Dippity Dew in it. Lolol
Please, please, PLEASE! The banana clip!!! I was just longing for it earlier today as I came across one in my bathroom drawer. Who’s with me??
Oh my goodness, ya'll. I totally forgot about these. We could totally bring back the banana clip.

Girl, you just knew what was what all along!
You’re not alone sister, I got a perm a month ago. First perm in 40 years I think. And…….I love it. You go girl.
Yay! I love to hear that!
Love a body wave….DO IT!!
So I work at a middle school. These boys are growing out mullets and perming them. They actually look cool! So you go for it! Just not a mullet!
I have seen permed mullets all over the place lately. They make me laugh. No fear of me replicating that style, however!
Is your hair thick & coarse or fine?

You're sweet! And, I'll definitely be sharing pictures!
Stirrup pants!!! Long live stirrup pants!!!

Um, no. I just can't.

Woohoo! Would love to see pictures.
Yea! Way to go. Let's bring back the perm.
Melissa, did you go through with the perm? I expected a video for the reveal. Did I miss it?

Well, I'm not sure I'd like her first one since beauty school to be on me. I'm thinking experience is a good thing in this case.
Omg I've been thinking about doing the same. I will wait to see how yours turns out first. I'm more of a follower in life. Lol.

Um, that's a deal I will take!
