This Friday, August 27th, David and I will celebrate 27 years of marriage. It is not lost on me that 27 years is a hella long time. And with divorce rates at 50% in the United States I am proud of this accomplishment, because it didn’t come easy and it CERTAINLY wasn’t very fun at times.
I ADORE this! And after 1 divorce and a 2nd striving & thriving 20 yr marriage, I agree with them all! Now we need to hear from David for the men in our lives.

Happy 27th Anniversary to you and David. Your lists of 27 reasons is right on! My hubby and I just celebrated 33. Went through many happy ups but many, many more trying downs, but we stuck together and here we are! Two grown children and we’ve both just retired. So proud of ourselves for coming this far but our work is far from over! Let’s see how we do in our AARP golden years. Together in wedded bliss 24/7. Can’t wait to see what awaits in our future. Wait, what was I talking about?? Lol
We will celebrate 40 years in November and your advise is great! We have had bumps in the road but we are best friends! God put us together for a reason (we met in church) and who am I to question!
Only one thing of note despite the awesomeness of your list....if I treated my partner in life like a dog she would be livin' in the lap of luxury. :-) You might say we spoil our dogs. *wink*
Wish I’d read this before I got married as I would have done several things different. We’ve course corrected several times in 20-years to do many of these, and your list is brilliant. Passing it on to my kids when the time is right. Thank you!
