I promise you I will not ever get used to be asking about my OOTD (outfit of the day.) Not ever!
I don’t think you all understand just how un-fancy I am.
So many times y’all are asking me about a shirt I bought from Old Navy in the year that Friends premiered on television. Or a pair of shoes that I found in the back of my mom’s closet in a box marked Resale Shop.
This is a true story: I have a pair of white linen pants that have held up so beautifully and I wear them a lot. People always comment on them. Want to know when I got them? I was hired to sing at a woman’s 40th birthday celebration. That woman is now -no lie - 61. And I still have those pants. People are asking about 21 year old pants!! (Which is sadder? That people ask about them - or that I still wear them?)
Today I am bringing you my OOTD because I am trying to get more used to it, but also because I am in a hospital waiting room while David has a back surgery, and, well, it’s the best I can do. Okay? Your gurl gets a little overcome in hospital settings. Klonapin, anyone? I’ll take two. (literally)
So, here we go. My OOTD which I love because it’s cute, extremely comfortable, very forgiving and isn’t “too” anything (not too hot, not too short, not too dressy, not too casual, and not too expensive.) I love outfits like this. So let’s get into it…
I made a video about this dress a couple of weeks ago. It’s from the line Vera by Vera Wang at Kohl’s. I get compliments on this dress every time I wear it. It’s all one piece and the skirt is so forgiving that I am not wearing one bit of Spanx underneath. If you want to check out more of my favorite Spring dresses that I’ve recently indulged in, just go here.
Before we talk about shoes, quit looking at my legs. I have hideous legs. If you think I am not wearing leg makeup - you are insane. The veins on my legs are THE THORN IN MY FLESH. But I bought this body makeup a few years ago and never looked back. Do I use it everyday? No! I’m too cheap. But I do when I know I am taking a pic of these legs, for y’all.
You can pair this with dressy shoes or sneakers. I paired it with the Miz Mooz Shoes from QVC. I love these shoes. Just enough heel to not make me look dumpy. They are extremely comfortable and have that dressy, fashionable look while still being really great shoes for really bad feet. But I have to admit, I normally wear this dress with these shoes. They’re my personal favorites.
This purse. I normally would never wear my purse in an OOTD pic, but I love this thing. I bought it at the Coach Outlet and I wear it every day. I am not a girl who switches her purses based on her outfits. I wish! But alas, I change them by the season. That’s about all your gonna get outta me. This Coach bag is so reasonably priced (pay it in installments, baby) and fits all my stuff perfectly without being heavy
.
I know these glasses don’t match this dress, don’t come at me. They are my usual, Peepers. Are there any other readers that are as cool, as comfortable and come in as many great designs and colors as Peepers? I have a pair of Peepers in every room in my house.
My lip color is my go-to, hands-down, favorite summer color. It’s Guava by Merle Norman. It’s a lip pencil plus, which has the liner on one side and the color on the other. Love love love this color.
I do like to top my lipsticks with a little gloss. And if I’m not using good ol’ Vaseline Rosy Lips, I am using my newest obsession, Elf Lip Oil. These lip oils are so good and the only reason I’ve never mentioned them to y’all before is because they are always sold out wherever I go. Be advised: The color looks much more pigmented in the jar. Once on the lips it is a soft, subtle color, so don’t be scared. I use them daily!
My makeup is something new I’m trying: Jones Road Beauty. I’ll get back to you on how I like it after I try it for a few weeks. Don’t go run and grab it because honestly, the verdict is still out. I’ll let you know.
The tool I used on my hair this morning is the Le Curl by Lange, which is 43% off right now. But honestly the sale is huge for just about everything. Discount code MOM should be applied at checkout.
And, per usual, my nail color is Lava by DND. I have worn this color for the last three summers and it’s my go-to.
Well, did I cover everything? I certainly hope so. I tried to apply links to everything you see. If there isn’t a link, then girlfriend, I don’t have one. But here I am, just trying my best to make life a little easier for you all. Cuz I love ya! I really do!!

P.S. The doctor just came out and told me that David Radke had a perfect surgery. Just had some work done on a pinched nerve. But he should be up and weeding my flower beds in no time. (ha! He hasn’t done that in 30 years, why would he start now?)
So glad David's surgery went well. Thanks for letting us know. Love the scoop on your outfit. The dress is really cute and the shoes are great. You look great!
Great news on the Mr. Thank you for addressing and linking all your goodies on here! Great post! I’m definitely checking out the body makeup, as I’m white as snow and avoid bare-leg outfits. Any applying tips?? Yours looks perfect!
