If you had a quarter for every time your kid has asked ‘Why’ how many European vacations would you be able to go on? I could go on 12.
And yet ‘Why’ is a pretty important word and (sometimes) an even more important question. I’ll give you an example…

Here I am saying “why” like I haven’t said each of these things a thousand times, myself. I have. I just don’t anymore.
And it’s not because I listened to all of Oprah’s Soul Series podcasts or took a Masterclass on Positive Thinking or read a book called Sun, Sleeveless, Swimsuits and SourCream: My Journey Away from Dairy and Into an Exciting Life of Losing Weight and Feeling Great! (Does this book exist? I really hope not.)
I just made some decisions a few years back and now those decisions are on repeat in my life - and in my brain - every time the start of summer rolls around. I made a decision to
1) say yes to adventures no matter my size (like how I went to Maui with two friends who were a size 4 and a size 8. Oh yes I did.)
2) not miss a moment of memories (like how I crawled to the front of the whitewater raft and sat on the edge because it was called “riding the bull” and I wanted to own that memory.)
3) learn some tips and tricks to take the stress and worry out of get togethers and swim parties (Learn some cheats with me.)
4) realize I’m getting older and that means listening to my body in new and important ways (Hot flashes aren’t just for our mothers anymore, friends.)
5) looking for tiny pockets of miracles among the heat and sunburns and exhausting vacations (Where is God when it burns? Trust me, He’s there.)
